Theater Spring 2026 on ČT ART: 30 scenes, 30 unique perspectives on contemporary theater
Regional and city theaters across the country will be presented in the new television series Theatre Spring 2026 this spring. Czech Television, in cooperation with the Association of Professional Theaters of the Czech Republic, will offer a series of three-minute portraits that will capture the current form of 30 professional scenes.

Each episode will be introduced by prominent personalities – actresses and actors directly from the respective theatres. The premiere of the first film will take place on March 1 at 8:15 PM on ČT art. The culmination of the series will be on March 27, World Theatre Day, with a live broadcast of the original Czech musical Nine Crosses from the Brno Municipal Theatre. During the break, the television will also broadcast a special block of portraits of four Prague stages.
The series will present theatres as vibrant and open institutions – with a clear vision, the courage to respond to current challenges and concrete plans for the future. Viewers will see how individual companies develop their dramaturgical lines, work with audiences and bring new artistic impulses to local communities.
The series will feature performances by, among others, HaDivadlo, FX Šalda Theatre, Municipal Theatre, Zlín City Theatre, Chamber Stage Arena, Mladá Boleslav City Theatre, West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb, Drak Theatre, Drama Studio of Ústí nad Labem, Husa na provázku Theatre, Naive Theatre Liberec, Moravian Theatre Olomouc, Horácké Theatre Jihlava, Municipal Theatre in Most, JK Tyl Theatre in Pilsen, Šumperk Theatre, Silesian Theatre Opava, A. Dvořák Theatre Příbram, Radost Theatre, East Bohemian Theatre Pardubice, Puppet Theatre Ostrava, South Bohemian Theatre České Budějovice, National Theatre Brno, National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, Klicper Theatre Hradec Králové, Brno City Theatre and the National Theatre. From Prague's stages, there are the Na zábradlí Theatre, the Dlouhé Theatre, the Pod Palmovkou Theatre and the Prague Municipal Theatres.
Theatre Spring 2026 will thus offer a concentrated but varied picture of the Czech and Moravian theatre network - its energy, diversity and importance for cultural life in the regions.
