70th International Conference of the Performing Arts Sector Pearle Live Performance Europe in Linz

27/11/2025

At the 70th Pearle International Conference in Linz, Czech theatres are represented by Zdeněk Pánek and Martina Hájková from the Association of Professional Theatres. The conference programme focuses on innovation, digital transformation and cultural policy.
Participants will visit the Ars Electronica Centre, including the Deep Space 8K space. Representatives of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala and IMZ International Music + Media Centre will speak in the thematic block on the connection of art and digital technologies.

Pearle* has long been a platform for sharing experiences, professional discussions and as the voice of the European living arts sector in negotiations with the European Commission and other institutions.
This year, the panel "Cultural Policy from Local to European Level" will also take place, which will include, among others, MEP Hannes Heide and Heidemarie Meissnitzer, former EU Cultural Attaché.
An integral part of the program are round tables dedicated to the operational aspects of theatres, in particular topics such as sustainability and legal aspects of cross-border cooperation. A special block will then present the daily work of sound and lighting technicians, supplemented by a practical demonstration at the Musiktheater.
The conference will also bring up-to-date European legislative and political information and open a discussion on the benefits of EU-funded projects.
This year, Pearle* celebrates 35 years of its activity in the living arts sector. The European employers' association represents more than 13,000 theatres, orchestras, opera houses, festivals and other cultural institutions across Europe through its members.
