National Theatre Brno: audition (director)

The Brno City Council announces a selection procedure for the position of director of the National Theatre Brno , a contributory organization.

Required prerequisites:

  • higher education in a master's degree program;
  • at least 3 years of experience in a management position in the field;
  • knowledge of the basic principles on which a contributory organization established by a territorial self-governing entity is based;
  • knowledge of the Czech theatre environment, orientation in the field of Czech culture and contemporary European theatre, general cultural outlook;
  • managerial and organizational skills;
  • ability to communicate with the professional public and the media;
  • high level of expressive skills in both spoken and written language;
  • active knowledge of at least one world language (Aj, Fj, Nj) at level B1.

The application for the selection procedure must contain:

  • selection procedure name, name, surname, title, contact address and telephone number (e-mail), date and handwritten signature; it is possible to use the form published at brno.cz, section citizen/vacancies and selection procedures/forms/application for selection procedure for the position of director.

The following must be attached to the application:

  • a structured professional CV with information on previous jobs and experience, professional knowledge and skills;
  • a certified copy of the highest educational qualification;
  • extract from the criminal record not older than 3 months (original or certified copy), foreign nationals - a similar document;
  • motivation letter;
  • consent to the publication of a structured professional CV and consent to the publication of the submitted concept of the activities and development of the National Theatre Brno, a contributory organisation;
  • the concept of the activities and development of the National Theatre Brno, a contributory organization, in the period from 2028 to 2032. The concept must include:
    • the organization's vision and mission, strategic goals and methods for achieving them;
    • proposal for new staffing for the positions of artistic directors of opera, ballet and drama;
    • design of artistic concepts for individual ensembles;
    • SWOT analysis of the organization;
    • economic, business and marketing strategy;
    • proposal for the systematic and effective use of buildings and spaces entrusted to the organization for management, or possibly used by the organization on the basis of contractual relationships.

The concept will be processed in the scope of a maximum of 15 standard A4 typewritten pages. The concept, motivation letter and structured professional CV will be submitted both in written and electronic form, in electronic form they will be sent on the same date as the paper documents, electronically to the address: jurecka.zdenek@brno.cz.

Expected start date: from September 1, 2028, or by agreement.

Salary conditions: They are determined according to the legal regulations applicable to contributory organizations, 14th salary grade.
