At the 69th Pearle* conference in Athens, a new leadership of this prestigious European organization was elected. Zdeněk Pánek will continue to be a member of the executive committee, representing Eastern European countries and the Baltic region.

The Greek capital provided the perfect backdrop for the 69th Pearle* conference. Over two days, representatives of European performing arts organisations gathered to discuss pressing challenges and opportunities for the sector. A panel discussion was held on freedom of artistic expression in a polarised world. Participants addressed topics such as talent management, the EU Green Deal and audience development.
The conference also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. At the general meeting, an overview of the activities implemented was presented to the members and the Activity Reports for 2024 were published. Members also elected a new president and executive committee. Pearle* is a European association of employers active in the performing arts. Through its members, it represents more than 13,000 theatres, orchestras, opera houses, festivals and other cultural institutions across Europe. The organization serves as a platform for sharing information and experiences and also represents its members in negotiations with the European Commission and other institutions influencing the performing arts sector in Europe.
