Petr Michálek appointed director of the FX Šalda Liberec Theatre

The FX Šalda Liberec Theatre will have a new director – Petr Michálek – from August 1. After the outgoing Linda Hejlová Keprtová, the 49-year-old native of Hradec Králové, currently living in Brno, a dramaturge, actor, former director of the city theatres in Děčín and Zlín, and also the ex-rector of JAMU, will become the principal.The FX Šalda Liberec Theatre will have a new director – Petr Michálek – from August 1. Michálek won the February selection process among eight other candidates, the selection committee ultimately awarded him all the votes after the final debate and did not determine the order of candidates for other positions. He convinced the committee with his concept (Heart for Liberec), his previous managerial experience and communication skills. He stated that he directly approached all the current heads of the DFXŠ ensembles for cooperation, i.e. Kateřina Dušková (drama), Marika Mikanová (ballet) and Karol Kevický (opera).
